Hello everyone! We wish to welcome you to the new nChant website!

My name is Caleb, also known as cocoa or ccodaze, the leader of the nChant project. I've been a developer on Maghni AI for years now, and I’m glad to be at the helm of its successor moving forward.

Rebrand

We have decided to rebrand our efforts as a new product: nChant! We hope that it resonates well with you all. We felt the name Maghni was no longer representative of the project we wish to make and we hope that you can understand.

This is now an entirely separate project, developed by the prior junior developers of the Maghni team. We are building on the past work individual team members accomplished, while incorporating new efforts. Our current project is not an extension of the original Maghni AI, nor is it culpable for any past promises made, including but not limited to the crowdfund. Despite that, we will look to do right by those that supported VocaTone, such as providing supporters with early betas, when possible. For clarity, I'd like to reiterate that nChant is not associated with VocaTone, Austin, Misbah Studios, Natalia, or Barham in any regard.

Transfer

I'm also happy to say that we have everything sorted out legally; Maghni as a name remains property of Crescendia, but all the work we have put into it is able to come with us, including all code, library work, model work, and any libraries that were promised. VocaTone libraries are still on hold for now.

State of the Product

Additionally, we are happy to announce that our first major milestone with the new engine, the vocoder, is now feature complete. We have some work-in-progress rendered samples available in our discord for everyone to listen to, which will be updated going forward as the product develops. Moving forward, we will begin the development of the acoustic singer model—we look forward to letting you hear it!

In addition, I'm pleased to announce the opening of the official nChant Discord server! We'll be posting status updates, demonstrations, answering questions, and working towards fostering a community. We know we've been historically quiet and unresponsive on our official channels, and I hope this is evident of our fresh start.

Any applicable questions asked on the server will be posted in our future Q&As. We will source our Q&A questions from both comments here (once they're implemented) and the Discord server.

We have a small team of developers, admins, and mods who have joined to help. We kindly insist on being on your best behavior, and to not harass any of our team members. Complaints or insistent questioning will not be tolerated due to the stress these actions have brought to our team members. If you have any concerns, I'll be available to talk, though I am quite busy, so please don't expect instant responses.
